We decided to use the email from profile to map back to our internal systems. This is unique enough to identify resources in both systems.

How to retrieve custom user profile data via the toolkit

Greetings. I am a new community member and am trying to integrate the Daptiv solution with my current homegrown tools.

Here is some short background for context: We have a Time Entry system that supports my entire organization. This is a key internal system for our profitability reporting and resource tracking. We plan on rolling out the Daptiv solution to only a small subset of my entire organization. This subset will do all their time entry using the Tasks and Work Entry concepts in Daptiv. My task is to pull the data from Daptiv and stuff it into my internal Time Entry system. To do this successfully I have to know what internal CoAMS (my company) employee ID to charge the Work Entry item for the given Daptiv DirectoryUser Profile that I pull from Daptiv. I plan on using a custom field for the Profile that will represent my internal employee ID. I'll repeat that in a different way to ensure clarity: I need to pull Daptiv Work Entry information and place it into my internal Time Entry system. My internal system is based on the concept of employee ID. I plan to add a custom field to Daptiv Users that represents my internal employee ID.

Here is the problem: I cannot find an obvious way via the toolkit to get to the custom fields. I have successfully retreived my users GUIDs, but I am loathe to have to maintain a separate mapping outside of either Daptiv or my internal Time Entry system to maintain the link between Daptive GUID and CoAMS employee ID.

Final note: I have not actually configured the custom fields yet in my Enterprise. We are still planning our Daptiv implementation and I am a bit ahead of the game by already figuring out how to get the data I need. I am assuming that the actual presence of custom fields is immaterial technically speaking as the API either does or does not allow retreiving custom information.
