Limit on number of tasks in a project schedule?

Is there any limit to the number of tasks in a project schedule before performance deteriorates? We have had problems with projects containing 800-2000 task items: we have system lockup when deleting tasks and we have problems deleting projects containing this many tasks. We routinely manage schedules with this number of tasks, although we also have smaller projects - these don't have the same system lockup/timeout issues. Has anyone noticed this problem?

We have already contacted support, but I was curious if anyone in the user community had experienced an "upper limit" on the number of tasks. With this information, I can better plan for my project managers in developing schedules that conform with the Daptiv environment. Thanks.
