eProject System Status via eLounge

With the launch of the eLounge, eProject customers (and the Project Management community as a whole) have a fabulous way to stay informed about eProject products and services.  We greatly appreciate the efforts of everyone that has contributed to the rich content of the site.  I encourage you to keep it up so that we can continue to grow the community!

A few months ago, I introduced the Technical Services team to the eLounge.  In that posting, I indicated that we were looking at a number of ways to leverage the eLounge to communicate better with our customers.  The first area that we have decided to move forward with is System Status and Announcements.

As a leading on-demand, SaaS provider, we have an obligation to our customers to keep them informed about general system availability, scheduled maintenance as well as follow up after non-scheduled maintenance.  To date, we have really only addressed the communication of scheduled maintenance through postings on product login pages, while general system status and follow up from non-schedule maintenance, has been by request via our support team.  However, with the use of eLounge forums, we plan to fix that.  Effective immediately, eProject Technical Services will begin using eLounge Forums as the official method of communicating system status of our various production solutions.

Currently eProject provides three different application environments, Workgroup Edition, Enterprise Edition, and the newly released PPM6 product.  Each product will have a unique forum on the eLounge where the eProject Technical Services Team will be posting updates related to system status/performance, scheduled maintenance, and information about non-scheduled outages.  In addition to the forums for hosted solutions, we will also be utilizing a forum for announcements to onsite customers regarding the availability of product updates, hot fixes, etc.  Finally, a catch-all forum for general announcements will also be available.  Below are links for the various forums:

General Status and Announcements – Communication of general system or environment information

Workgroup Edition – System status and announcements for eProject Workgroup Edition (formerly known as version 4.0)

Enterprise Edition – System status and announcements for eProject Enterprise Edition (formerly known as version 5.0)

PPM6 - System status and announcements for eProject PPM6

Onsite Announcements – Product release, hot fix and general onsite technical communication.

Over the course of the coming weeks we will be adding a link to each product’s eLounge forum on the login page for that product.  If customers have any product availability concerns, they can quickly access that link to verify if a situation is currently being worked on.  If customers require additional information we strongly encourage the continued use of our various support channels to submit that request or to report any issues you are encountering with the application.

As I mentioned earlier, this is just one of the ways that we will be leveraging the eLounge for stronger communication.  Be on the look out for additional posts/announcements on how the eLounge will be used to enhance communication with our user community.

Thanks

Mike Jensen
